There are a number of foods and drinks that are famous in the Czech Republic and they are a mixture of the traditional as well as the international foods. The traditional foods have been used for a number of years and the recipes keep on changing as the years go by. The foods are made from the ingredients that grow locally like potatoes and legumes. The vegetables are served with pork, beef and poultry.

Current cuisine

Most people eat white bread with chicken ham or sausage during the holiday season or over the weekend, most of the citizens indulge in doughnut and yeast bread. The tea is mixed with lemon, or they
take juice or hot chocolate.

Most of them have lunch at the restaurant because it is cheap and the meal consists of a main course, soup and desert. Most of the meals usually contain soup and beef as well as poultry products. For the vegetarians, there are a number of vegetable soups that are available and are easy to prepare.

During dinner, the families take a more heavy meal as compared to what they had for lunch. Dinner is used as the opportunity to talk to each other as a family.

Most of the citizens have adapted other recipes from a number of countries and they take the ones that are easy to prepare. Most of the restaurants have invested a lot in the international menus which the locals will eat from time to time.

Grapevines grow in plenty in South Moravia and this makes it easy for people to get the wine. Many use it as a dessert with the main meals while others use it for special occasions only.

In the country, beer has been used for a number of things like cooking. There are many breweries in the country and they deal with the brewing of traditional beer as well as newly introduced beer brands.

Becherovka

This is a traditional liquor rich is made from the natural ingredients. It has been around for many years and up to date, the citizens still use it for occasions as well as parting and as desert.
